Yes, I remember the car when it was first salvaged and recall the damage.

On the way to Brands

, I'd advise that you take a detour via Castle Combe as that may help.
Welcome to LEC in any event.

Gear lever throw...yes they are all like that, except for those who have fitted the short shift kit!
They may be still available. Do a search for short shift in search box above.

Ideal project car for the Rosyth/Dunfermline dream team

PS car must've been abroad a long time. Last MOT was >12 years ago

Hmmm, Angie's always liked yellow ones......
It looks pretty original, if not a tad unloved in recent times. I think a good clean up by the garage would get a more favorable return.

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Says he has a deposit, but also said he didn't think it was worth 2g even!. I reckon going by what he said to me on the phone it's a bit worse than the pictures make out.

Hi All
Looking to purchase my first Elan and seen this for sale on Gumtree
https://www.gumtree.com/p/lotus/lotus-elan-m100-s2/1297865422Was wondering if anyone knew any history on the car or if anyone had been to see it and passed on it for some reason.
I'm not completely useless when it comes to maintenance but if anyone has any insight or thoughts about this specific car that would be appreciated.
Thanks
Edward

Hi Edward welcome to LEC and your wise choice of car .
I have seen this car advertised before but know very little about it . Being Palacio purple i think its one of 12 made and our Kathryn may no a bit more , also our Muley is a purple owner.
Being Yorkshire based you will hopefully have a few local hands that may be able to view with you .Which is always helpful.
Best of luck with your potential purchase .
Jim Clark S2 - 1/12. The one with the Yellow spoke wheels . No 613 on dash (pushed in to factory in wrong order 615 on tub)

Looks a good price but it seems to have struggled at MOT time these past few years

Don't know much about this specific car. Palacio is not everyone's cup of tea ~ but there is a certain cachet in owning one.

Hopefully the MOT issues have been addressed e.g. new tyres? When was the cambelt last changed? Not particularly cheap to have it done professionally. Seems cheap but I think it's been for sale quite a while

1 of 29. Not as exclusive as you thought Clemo!
I don’t know anything about this car, but I have seen it for sale a few times. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, it could just be the colour putting people off. I understand mine was for sale for ages before the previous owner bought it. It seems to be a colour everyone admires, but few would choose to own! Personally I love it!

I bought my Palacio S2 — no. 751 - BECAUSE of the colour.

About right. I was there too this year. I'm not colour blind but I do have a rather unusual taste for colours.
