Garage/Storage in Scotland

I'm returning 'home' soon and am looking for a place with a space to keep my Elan under cover. Home is somewhere Central Scotland, Fife is the target but West or a bit North of Glasgow might also work. Struggling to find properties with garages atm and might need a temporary storage space. Any ideas?

It's a fall back perhaps. Need power as the battery dies in about four days, never figured out why in nearly 20 years of ownership. Thanks for the suggestion.

Eunice was a damp squib with us. Light winds, bright skies, not a snowflake to be seen. A bit blustery later on but nothing worse than a normal day in the Scottish Borders

Ken, battery drain could be due to the boot or trunk interior light remaining on! Simple remedy, just disconnect the coupling which is, or should be underneath the rear deck! Good luck on finding suitable storage! Regards, Clive.

Both of mine will drain the battery over a period of 14-20 days despite no boot light or interior lights being on. I suspect it is probably due to the alarm/immobiliser. For this reason I hook up all my cars to a CTEK, or similar, battery conditioner. Then I never have any problems and the batteries are always in tip top condition

I've checked the lights, it's probably the aftermarket alarm. I have it on an intelligent charger and as it ain't really broke I won't try to fix it

Well getting closer to 'home'. Have sold down south, currently sofa surfing but hopefully will be in Doune by Mid July. Will bring the Elan up hopefully mid/end July, too late for the Glamis Castle motoring festival 9th/10th July but is anyone likely to be there?

There are a few options for storage in Central Scotland, but it really depends on your budget and where exactly you're looking. If you're willing to spend a bit more, you could look into renting a storage unit or even a small warehouse. I was in your situation when I was living in Canada and rented a unit in Storage Units Toronto. Otherwise, you might be able to find a friend or family member who has a garage or shed that you could use for a short period. Another option is to see if any storage facilities near your home offer outdoor parking for RVs or boats; they might also be able to accommodate your Elan. Ultimately, it depends on what you're willing to spend and how long you need the storage.
