Lots of choices but very few performance oriented ones in 205/45-16. Hi-$$$ michelins and bridgestones, crappy Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S (I have 'em, don't bother). I'm becoming partial to Kumhos for their price/performance characteristics. 215/45-16 Ecsta XS would be the hottest; all the autocrossers swear by them. In the stock size, I'd even think of the Kumho ASX. They're inexpensive and (at least the ones on my daily driver) are sticky enough to keep the heavy daily beast planted.

I got a great deal shipped on 205/45-16 Toyo R1R. I have been hearing great things about them being super sticky yet long lived and comfortable.

We didn't have them shaved, since Steve wants them to last as long as possible on the street. They will be scrubbed in by his first track session, though...no worries there.

They are also supposed to be very light for their size, which will pay benefits in all aspects of the car's performance.

Aha, I see. It may be good to specify if there are just 4 wheels total or 2 sets of wheels
