Not a bad looking car, lacklustre listing, nice in red too but maybe with the profit if he gets it sold he could buy a decent camera, and then learn how to write an ad with at least some basic details about the item.

Hopefully, the (consistent) brake issues mentioned in the MOT history are now sorted.... and the headlamps. Not really anything to worry about in there.

Personally not a fan of the wheels, but someone may like them.

Probably a reasonable 'entry level, useable' car that will benefit from general tidying up whilst using it in the approaching good weather....... probably needs more time than money on it now, but without looking, it is impossible to say.

It isn't one I remember from the area, but I have been away for over 4 years now.

(getting the Lotus garage at W-s-M to do the cambelt isn't always a great thing - they only had the franchise since 2016 and (AFAIK) none of the staff would ever have worked on an Elan..... still, at least it will have been done with 'factory' parts and warranty I suppose).

SORN'd and last log book change oct 21. Seals look awry, appears the side header seal has become detached and folded over with the glass now landing on the top part, easily fixed so why not.
Is the owner on here?, you might have put in a bit of effort tidying it up, on the picture with the hood up check the layer of dust on that centre console, and the dust on the screen and bonnet, it's never even been washed for the pictures .

Would I be right in saying standards have dropped so much in recent times, seems like there's no finesse and folk just can't be arsed putting in the effort anymore.

Like you say Rambo the starting bid is a tad optimistic but it might make a reasonable example with a load of TLC.

When others have gone at a top bid of that sort of money, I'd have thought that throwing a bucket of water over the car would have been worth the effort.... but with the nice weather soon to arrive, we all know it's a great time to advertise and try your luck.

I just looked at the pictures again, it's actually had the hose put a light spraying of water droplets over it, as if that will make a huge difference to anything. My advice would be to pull the advert and either
do a valet or spend a measly few quid and get someone to do it, and then readvertise it at least looking fairly presentable. It would be well worth the effort.

Had to look through all the pictures before it o=was obvious which was the dominant colour.. Red or Green?
Looks like its been stored somewhere damp. I'd imagine the underside to be a bit of a shock.

Same here - I was "winning" it last night, but now i'm quite a way down the bidders list..... with a long way to go.

I shall be revising my valuation during the week and may well re-enter the fray. My pricing is going on the achieved price of 'known' cars, and the 'failed-to-sell' known cars - so it may or may not be reasonable basis for a price.

It needs a coat of paint, so that is £3k to spend out, plus usual recommissioning costs (belts, tyres, brakes etc)...... I do still have a hardtop in Pac Blue though, so I'm halfway there!!!!
