Not in the Midlands, but my trubo on the Esprit was done recently by Essex Turbo in Witham on 01376 503350. Seems to be a good job and all done via post for £594.

Midland Turbo's in Nottingham did a good job on my BMW Turbo a few years ago, I can recommend them.

Due to my mechanic being very busy, I am looking at removing my turbo myself.

I have been reading the how-to guides on here. however, I have vey limited room in my garage.

Do you need access from both sides of the car? I need to put the car up against the wall on the passenger side, so will not have access down that side of the car.
As the oil needs to be changed as part of the operation, I will need to change the filter - i have heard that this is a pain of a job? Any comments?

I would suggest that you pick a dry day, and at least remove (or loosen) the oil filter outside before pushing it into the garage..... with the car against the wall you will immediately rule out the easiest (in my view) method of reaching the oil filter by standing against the wing and reaching around behind/under the plenum.

Actually removing the turbo is simple enough (if you follow my guide ) - you will find it easier to remove the manifold studs with the proper star-sockets (e8, IIRC) - but it can be done with mole grips or similar. (For replacement, it is far easier & better to refit with a proper socket).

I used Turbo Technics many years ago (Ford Focus TDCi) They were very efficient and turnaround was very quick.
