Stabbed in the back (of the head)

Came up with a Health and safety idea this weekend after catching my head too many times on the bonnet catch. It was either this or wear a bump hat and look like some kind of weirdo:

Short piece of 15mm pipe insulation that i'll keep in the car now. That catch has stabbed me for the last time now

My favourite Lotus-inflicted injury is to bash myself just above the eye with the corner of the bonnet where it curves round the headlamp. Several scars from that one

wouldnt identify myself as vertically challenged, but certainly never had this issue.

I am one of 'those' people who can bang my head on almost anything, at any height (I have the scars and stitches to prove it), but since fitting the struts to hold the bonet up it gives just that bit of extra clearance and it isn't a problem - but it does look like a practical solution to a problem you had.

I used the original Canadian brackets from the group buy - but Fredjohn has made his himself using parts which he located in the UK....

Indeed I did. Works well so long as it's not too windy.

As Dave says, gives you a few extra inches of headroom.

I've never had a problem with this in 18 years, despite being average height. Take the blinkers off, it will help

It’s all that Tamnavulin you take; numbs the area completely

Been there several times, got the blood-stained tee-shirt, and I'm average height.
I got the parts to do the gas strut thing a couple of years ago - must get around to building them up & fitting them - Ideal time as the bonnet and wheel arch liners are off the car ATM.

FJ: Do you have some measurements / is there a LEC thread on your set-up?
