I'm not sure that it is fair to suggest it isn't worth it based on the pictures alone... maybe some of the bidders know the car or have been to see it??? After all, I got my red one for a steal because the pictures were really crap so it didn't attract bids - but I'd gone and inspected/driven it and had an idea of value (which was wildly wrong due to my inexperience at the time.... but it was still cheap!).

I'm still of the mind that the car is a rolling project - unlikely to be anything I can't fix with what I have in the garage, except for the bodywork, so I stick with my original "valuation".... but as I said, if the work needs farming out, then it will be a net loss to whoever buys it, and unlikely to see a profit as a quick flip.

Interesting MOT history. Failed in 2007, then nothing till 2017 failed again. Passed 2017 presumably after some work. Then nothing till 2022, failed then passed after more work.
So in his 18yrs of his ownership, it's been SORNd for 14/15yrs! Unless he put a different personal plate on it in the intervening years, but mileage would suggest not.

For probably the least desirable of the 3 models its a bit shabby for an asking price such as that.
Looks like its spent much of its life out in the elements too.
I think this owner may have wasted his ebay listing fee.

As you know I regularly drive to events up and down the country ie Silverstone, Castle Combe, Donington etc... Each return journey is circa 700 - 800 miles for me. Never had problems with tirednesss. Nor with troublesome turbo's either

We used our troublesome turbo (with 2.5" exhaust) to drive the length of the UK, do the NC500 and drive back. Wasn't tired or troubled in any way for 2,700 miles.

The only thing that I can think of which may add some credence to his statement is that the car needs work doing to it's suspension, and/or the fact that the NA has a slightly different Final Drive ratio, so at motorway speeds the revs will be a bit higher than with an SE.

Either way, like you two, I tend to do the odd longish journey, and find that I arrive with a smile on my face and no more aches and pains than if I'd taken the VW.

I'm not sure about that as this is a re-listing as it didn't get any bids the firt time around. There have been a few interesting cars listed recently which received no bids even though the starting price wasn't high. I wonder whether all the news about a cost of living crisis and how we are all going to be broke is making people wary of buying fun cars.

Interesting. Looks like an NA because there is a clock instead of a turbo gauge. Which makes it more attractive to me. I'd sell the purple and take this instead ~ except the bottom has fallen out of the M100 market

Well, it looks like a nice car to me.....

..... a couple of things to consider (for me!) - (1) does it have a manual steering rack & (2) Can you tell me more about the exhaust...... (3) what's the story with the MOT? Details in advert say it is current until August 2023, but 'gov website (and certificate in photo) say it ran out in September 2022..... (4) MOT failures many years ago for suspension arms, so were they repaired, replaced or what? (Galvanised or not).

It's not my favourite colour, but it is a good base for an Empire respray!

As an N/A it has a few of the 'options' - body-coloured mirrors - but cloth seats, hence my query about the steering...... I'd love a non-PAS version to play with (to see how it can be changed to an electrically assisted version).

I also see amongst the receipts that there is one for a 4-1 manifold fabrication....... interesting to see what has been done there, and why???

Jim, if you are looking to buy one and sell another, does it matter what the state of the market currently is? (apart from being able to move the other one along, I suppose) - And Angie wants a purple one
