Hi all,
I just bought a 1991 Lotus Elan turbo. It’s a US left hand drive. It starts right up with starter fluid and has no power to the fuel pump. The fuel pump inertia switch is missing. Since I can’t trip it due to the fact it’s not there, I’m wondering how I could jump the connection in the plug to get power to the pump temporarily. Can someone tell me which plug and wires need to be jumpered?

Wiring diagram attached. It's from my archives but all Manuals, and lots more, have been posted by Dave Pink (Pinky) and are available to all by clicking on Manuals (5th across in the LEC page header) and clicking on Electrical Manual (centre of 2nd row). It will be on Page 67 of the pdf.

Inertia switch is a safety feature to cut fuel pump on impact or inversion of vehicle, so be a good idea to acquire one a.s.a.p, .. I've only had mine 'pop' when I hit a big pothole at speed, fortunately the UK wiring puts it in the battery compartment so not a big deal to get to it to reset the button and carry on.
If you need further advice just ask...

I started typing before your post, got interrupted by a phone call, and competed without seeing your post.

And I have given a detailed answer to this question to the same owner on TLF (The Lotus Forums) several days ago. Including the wiring diagram

Exactly. And you and Phil are now experts too
PS I hadn't realised the location of the inertia switch on a Fed. car until John pointed it out though
