Happy to join in the 'off topic' theme of the Forum and its continuation, but not knowing anything about hosting, html, linux or any other pc based acronyms i cant offer any help. All i can offer is a round of applause to those who do give their time to keeping this forum ticking over. I have been and still am a member of several 'classic' car forums and can without any shadow of doubt say that this is the most helpful and information loaded one of all of them.
As our cars get older and in turn so do some of the owners who eventually part company with their vehicles due to financial/health issues we lose some of the knowledge along the way. I work in an industry that still uses 150 year old technology and the skill set available today to fettle and maintain some of that technology is as thin on the ground as you can probably imagine. Im old enough to have been trained on it when i started 40 years ago but i dont plan being involved much longer.
My point is that the risk one day of losing this hugely valuable information vault worries me tremendously. I think that without it a lot of people would simply struggle to keep their cars turning and possibly just give up on them. To that end, i do hope that collectively, those with the knowledge, ability and time to do so will endure and keep the forum alive in whatever form possible. Meanwhile, i'll happily offer my support banging pan lids on my doorstep on a weekly basis.
Many thanks to the Oracle and gurus of LEC!
