Right headlight not liftig

Dears,

my headlight on the right side is not rising.

The motor is working for five seconds or so but then the light is only lifted a little bit.

Left side is fine though. It´s popping up as it should, then you hear the motor of the right side working until it stops.

Any suggestions?

Very common problem. Sounds as if the 3 plastic bushes in the motor have crumbled to nothing after 30yrs.

Overhaul kit relatively cheap available from most Lotus specialists. Fairly easy job too, provided you can get wheel arch liners off! Do both motors while you are at it.
