Morning all. I've just bought an electric blue Elan at auction from Brightwells so thought I'd better come on here and say hi! It's my second Elan - I had a mustard yellow one 20 years ago which was my first ever car (bit easier to get insurance those days!) and I've wanted another ever since I stupidly sold that one...
I live in Windsor but work in Camberley and I do intend to use it day-to-day in the summer so you may see me around if you live in the Berkshire / Surrey area.
I've had a couple of niggles sorted out but need some things doing to really get it where I want. It's only done 3,000 miles over the last ten years so hasn't seen much use.
Firstly, I need paint touch-up on wing mirrors and a little scrape on the rear bumper. Anyone know of any good paint shops in the local area that might be able to help? Secondly, the elasticated straps in the hood have lost all elasticity and hang down so I'd like to find an upholsterer who could sort that. Thirdly, the plastic cover of the rear right light cluster is cracked. Is it possible to just get a cover or do I have to replace the whole unit which looks like about £450 to buy one?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thank you!
Nick

With regards to the plastic light cover, there have been several group buys from a guy in France, but I think they have now stopped trading, found this post the other day..
https://www.facebook.com/PhenixRetroConceptYou may notice a few M100's with different rear lights as some have made up their own solutions to this problem.
Good luck with the car.
Mine is a blue S2 pacific blue (B08 code) and just normally get some paint made up via the internet, eg paints4u and auto paint st helens.

Welcome! You've come to the best place for Elan info.
