Had a bit of time to myself last night and out of curiosity I decided to google the reg of my Elan:
E19 TUS
I was already aware from the extensive history that came with the car that the previous owner was a gentleman named Roland Halliday who lived not far from where I live, and that following his untimely passing in 2014 the car was subsequently owned by his son Dan, and then his daughter Sophie before I bought/rescued it from a pretty shifty bunch of car dealers earlier this year.
On googling the registration, I soon found out that Roland was a very active member of LEC, under the username ‘inkitin’ and I can see from some of his posts that many of you in here were well aware of Roland, that he was very passionate about his Elan, and a great friend to many. It’s been really interesting reading some of his many posts on LEC and seeing old photos of him with E19 TUS. I will be ploughing through as much of it as possible as I find the past life of my clearly cherished Elan fascinating.
Anyway, in case anyone who knew him was wondering what became of his pride and joy once it was no longer in the family, I just thought I’d post this to say that it’s now my pride and joy and is once again getting the love and care that it deserves. If anyone is in touch with Dan or Sophie, please feel free to let them know that their Dad’s car is in safe hands.
