When unable to log in, what is the procedure to request help/notify that you have a problem/have somebody resolve it?
When this happened to me recently I had no idea if the messages that I sent to LEC members to whom I had previous contact had even been seen, let alone actioned.

The two different results are most probably due to there being 2 different links:

From the Home page it's http://wikilec.9600.org/ - Gives a 404 error
From the Forum page it's http://wikilec.com/ - Gives 'Forbidden' message

In DNS, Wikilec.com is pointing to the new LEC IP address, so the problem with that one's somewhere on the server.
If I had to guess I'd say it's file permissions.

Facebook is an “open the crate with the crowbar that you will find inside” non-answer for somebody without a Facebook account! And I am one of the world’s handful of such people. Do you have another offering?

I did not even know that LEC had a Facebook account, and had to use an Internet search engine to find the required URL and discover that the door is locked for me.

I was an IT person for all of my working life. I understand about security. I only deal with the evil companies* when I absolutely have to, so for example, owning an Android mobile phone means that it is mandatory to have a Gmail account without jumping through a great many hoops of fire. But that’s it. On my phone, LOCATION is only ON when it provides an advantage to me. I do not use Google’s search engine, and I do not even use the word GOOGLE as an adjective.

Why do I keep them at arm’s length?
Because:
• They are evil!
• I have often enough been the victim of companies being hacked.
• I get enough spam.
• I am not at all interested in an uninformed person’s opinions expressed as facts.
• I do not have enough time left on this Earth to waste any of it with utter twaddle.

And of those, I have only ever used Amazon, Google and WhatsApp.
When Zuckerberg bought WhatsApp he promised that it would never be used vacuum up data. It did take six years for him to break that promise, but that was the day that I closed my account and opened a SIGNAL account instead.
I only use Amazon on the rare (ish) occasions when their price is the cheapest.

Sorry for the delay. WikiLEC has caused a few heartaches but should now be operational.

I'm not sure what's happened, but there has been a pile on by spammers/bots and I've just spent a very pleasant hour laboriously weeding out the chaff - the Q&A on registration has now changed.

There has also been a backlog of post approvals hiding in the ether which I have gone through the best I can. Apologies if you have been affected, but this is a time consuming task at the best of times without the complication of Artificial Ignorance.

similar issue on PC - If I click on the auto fill login and password It logs me straight in (and sometimes straight out again) no opportunity to check the box.

i have just experienced a different issue,
my "unread posts" list has new entries which were not there yesterday and are not new replies or new posts since my last visit.

in practice its not a problem its only got 6 threads to check, but may be a sign of something else going on.

For those having log-in / log-out issues, please make sure you have https:// at the front of forum.lotuselancentral.com - Fixed it for me!

It seems that the option to always use https didn't make it across during the recent server move.

Edit: This may also explain the recent increase in spammers & bots.

Hi I have a problem with private messages. I can read but it's not possible to answer. The box submit is not available.
