spare wheel

Postby johnj » Tue 09.04.2024, 10:08

Hi

I have an S2 with bigger brakes on all wheels. I have a problem today requiring a wheel to be taken off. The spare wheel will not substitute for any wheel due to the brakes. Does anyone know if there is a space saver that will fit and miss the brakes or do I need full sized wheel in the boot just in case?

I think this has been mentioned previously on here and the option at the time was a spacesaver from a Honda model which had the required 4 x 100 wheel bolt pattern.
Not sure if it was a certain model only or not but you might be able to find the previous chat on here.

i thought you could put the space saver on the rear wheel and put the rear alloy in the front.
unless the rear calipers were also upgraded

Beware! I think you'll find the Honda wheel will only fit over the 15" upgrade on the SE wheel, and not the slightly larger 16" upgrade on the S2 wheel.

Just double check all your measurements first before buying one and finding it doesn't fit.

I found a Honda spare and it fits over the Wilwood 15" set up, and also the PNM rear upgrade (Golf Mk4 caliper) but only with a bit of fettling for the rears.
