so. another update.

over the week i investigated further and found that one of the raft bottom bushes was a bit worn.. took the car to the garage to have an inspection at the pit and the Tester agreed that bushing was the cause of the issue.
gone home and swapped the bushing with a used one from a spare raft, and the noise is still there.

this morning took the car to the garage again and the tester was very kind to have another look before opening the doors.... well the 10 minute thing turned into half hour of faffing about and trying with the lever to find anything with any play. and a fair few runs up and down to make it clunk again and again and again...
and no conclusion.
From underneath it appears the sound comes from the chassis. but theres nothing moving about when braking that is unexpected... with exception that the driver's side hub carrier is twisting a little bit when braking.
this is particularly strange as the raft was changed on that side, and the new-old raft bushings are in usable condition.

im going to have a closer inspection at that. but seems a rather unlikely cause.
I Have ran out of ideas of what to look for. getting very close to the point of swapping each corner's springs and dampers with the old ones just to rule out the new dampers being the issue.
if anyone has any ideas im all ears...

and another update.

i "may" have finally found it.

althought not a complete victory, (as, theres some noises still not quite right) i did find what was the reason for the big clunk that was so elusive to stop.

i paid a little more attention to the driver's side because of the MOT tester mentioned

the driver's side hub carrier is twisting a little bit when braking.

after closer inspection i found that the support bracket from the chassis to the front of the prongeron was not bolted on properly torqued... it actually allowed a little movement. after tightening this bolt, the noise chanced drastically, and i no longer get a "clunk" that resonates through the chassis.

there is still some ther noises happening which appear to me more prominent when on full lock. so that will be a look into driveshafts at some point. but as of right now. the car is back on full operational mode, and being driven daily again. I Have done 150 miles this week already, with another 120 over the past 2 weeks.

fingers crossed this summer i will be able to enjoy the m100 to a whole new level, as a multitude of upgrades has stacked up every since 2020 and im finally able to actually drive it regularly

just bragging a little bit about something i made a few years ago.

took a chinese generic charger and a spare AC switch. an afternoon of efforts and now my phone can charge with or without the ignition on, this keeps the standard look of the car as well as gives me the option to control the charge with the switch


im currently plannin on making something different and improve. the intention is to make a phone holder with a usb fast charger (this one is a slow charger) which will plug on the blank.

fingers crossed ill have something worth showing before the end of the year.

changed a wheel bearing.

and still getting the noise.. so i may be doing another wheel bearing... but right now i have a pulsating brake pedal.. so maybe... i should have changed the front discs.... well thats a job for tomorow..

for now. enjoy another video. this was done with reduced effort in filming.. i am probably going to stop completely doing videos. as its extremely time consuming and not rewarding enough.
