Elan Selling advice - Forum rules

Hi All,

Hope you are all keeping well?

I'm at the point where I am going to have the sell my Elan...

Just been looking at the For Sale section - Is there a specific set of rules for selling Elans on here? I.e. what I need to put in the post or not?

Basically, the only "requirement" is to put a price! - it doesn't need to be exact (although if I sell a car, I always put a price and say whether I will accept a close offer or not). It is an 'invitation to negotiate', but will set a ball-park area for buyer/seller to weed out anyone looking for either a much cheaper, or much more expensive vehicle, thus saving everyone any trouble arranging to view only to feel that it isn't what they were expecting/wanting.

We don't allow "offers", or "best price secures" (unless the offers are after seeing a price and viewing the car!!!).

If you want to advertise it elsewhere and link to that advert, no problem....... and that is the best way to go if you are after a "best offer" sale. Just by putting the car on ebay (or other auction site) and linking to it from the Forum, you may get the best of both worlds.

In my experience, a car with a known history and/or owner will often sell itself with little other information, but an unknown one will require a few good photographs and relevant details......

.... no-one on here needs to know that it is the best FWD car of its era, that it sounds great, bodywork doesn't rust etc etc etc.... but everyone wants to know when the Cambelt was last changed, if it has any 'upgrades' etc.
