Lights on but pods down

Postby BertBeck » Fri 26.07.2024, 01:23

Hi, Ive had a look through but cant find anything specific.
Sometimes when I switch my lights on the pods dont pop up. The lights are on but pods stay down.
Then a few seconds, or a minute later they suddenly pop up on their own.
Its not usually a problem but Ive got MOT coming up and hoping it doesnt happen then, any ideas anyone?

Cheers, Bert

A common problem and usually one of three things. Question: can you raise them manually with the knob on the motor?

1) the 3 plastic drive bushes in each motor have crumbled to dust. Cheap easy fix. Parts readily available. Frequently raised on the forum.

2) the headlamp module is faulty.

3) the connecting rods are very stiff and need cleaning and lubricating.

Thanks for that, yes they can be manually raised.
I think its the rods getting stuck, there was no lube on any moving parts.
Will grease them up and see how it goes.
