Hello from Canada.

Hello Everyone,
I have been lurking here since shortly after I bought my 1991 Pacific Blue (B36), 80k mile example last year as a project. According to what I can find, about 560 cars were sold in the US in 1991, but only about 40 in Canada. Mine is originally from Georgia and was imported into Canada around 2018 by the fellow I bought it from. I can finally get it up on the lift and start working on it next week, but I already know it needs paint touch ups, all the hood seals, a steering rack rebuild and new tires. It's going to be a while getting it up to snuff, and I have zero experience with either Lotus or Isuzu cars, but I haven't been so looking forward to a restoration project in quite a while.

this is the right place to get help.

i had zero knowledge about repairing, maintaining or restoring cars when i first got my elan.

I Just knew that if i wanted to keep it on the road, i couldnt afford to pay someone to fix it for me... so all the money gone into the tools, the folk in here together with many hours of watching youtube videos on repairing cars (including the m100 restoration series) helped me learn about this car, and everything needed to keep it on the road.

I would suggest you start up by downloading all the manuals (click the manuals tab to go the Dave Pink's website and access those), they were originally made for the UK version of the car, with sections about the other versions. but there are not a lot of differences, therefore they will be very valuable to your ROW car.

before you ask questions, you can always use the search function and try your luck. its a bit of a awkard one to use. but it certainly works. you will also find youtube content on stuff with the car, both myself and torquehorse have uploaded videos to youtube with work we done on our elans. (he's is a FED car) which you may find helpfull with tackling tasks.

On the sales numbers here, I read that there were 41 cars sold in Canada in 1991, and there were 17 Blue ones sold in the US in 1991. I can’t say how accurate those numbers are, but I haven’t seen any here in Ottawa. This one is originally from the Georgia (the US one ).
