New Main Rear Oil Seal

Anybody fitted one ?! Do you press it in when the carrier is on the car or just try to press it into the carrier ? Apparantly there is a 'special tool' - is it vital to use/buy this ?!

Hey Simon,
I have fitted a new seal to the carrier in the past couple years. I just looked back at my photos and since there was only an "after" photo and no in-betweens, I guess it was pretty easy. I installed it in the carrier first, on the bench. Can use the trick of using the old one as a press for the new one, if you turn the whole thing face down on a table to press it in (if needed).
