Hi all…. I’m told that the Lotus Cars ‘Archive’ facility/department/service.. ,or whatever it was called,.. has been closed down. If you want to get a Certificate of Provenance, or information on chassis or engine numbers, there is no way to do that now. I believe the chap who used to look after this was call Mr Andy Graham… but apparently he is no more. When I phoned up Lotus Cars Customer Service, the nice lady said she just couldn’t help me on any historical heritage data anymore. Does anyone have any further insight concerning this… or a secret contact at the factory that could help out? Cheers Mike

Dont know if you ever stray onto TLF (The Lotus Forums) Mike, but there's been a thread on there about it for some time. Its run by Andy Betts (Bibs) and he is more in the know at the factory than many. It looks like the Chinese have turned their back on us traditional Lotisti. Can read about it
here.

Yes, a sad day for all Mike when the Chinese interfere with an established British institution

this is sooooooo close to getting into a political moan session
to be honest. theres no incentive for any auto maker to support discontinued cars , specially when they cant make money of the replacement parts for those models. it was bound to happen. a rgeat perk while it lasted, and i was planning on getting 2 for my cars eventually... now thats just another lifelong regret to my list

Sad to hear that this service is no longer available, these days all companies are trying to make more profit and cut costs, Lotus and just about any other company do not seem to care about customers.
