I thought after 26 years of driving Elan SEs (x3) and using the knowledge burried in the forum pages for all that time, that I should finally join and perhaps contribute
))Generally I have bought my Elans with ~60K miles on them and used them every day until they get up to around ~170K miles. At this point some kindly BMW or 4x4 driver tends to put them out of their misery by crashing into me (Which I find amazing as they are quite a striking car and hard to miss). After this the insurance companies have always seemed to reinburse me more than I paid for the car orionally (have you experienced the same?) ..... litterally the same £8K from 24 years ago is sitting in my garage now, amazing driving value!
I also find it interesting how many people come up to you and say they once ownd one / or love them considering how few were origionally made. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and thank those that run LEC for all the help I have had over the years in keeping my (high milage) beauties going.
