No power on the ignition circuit

I suspected an issue with the ignition switch to loom connector but it was the link I had put in to bypass the alarm/immobiliser that had dropped out!

That makes me wonder about simply putting a concealed switch on hat bypass line as an immobiliser......

Now to put it all back together and get the windscreen fixed.......

I'm glad you got it sorted - it's often the way that we do something as a 'temporary' fix, then half forget about it, and it either plays up at some time in the future or carries on working forever..... but rarely do the temp fixes get swapped for something more 'permanent', until they fail.

If it were me, and the immobiliser was playing up, I'd rip the whole system out, fit a remote central locking system (less than a tenner from Amazon), and connect the 4 wires permanently - but you could put a simple switch in the circuit if you wanted to just to retain a facility to delay/prevent an attempted theft.

was a bit more complicated than that - the garage had mashed up the wiring to partly remove the immobiliser and alarm - and then the ignition switch connector was not connecting - I guess getting to that (my limbo dancing much improved) I must have dislodged one of the linking wires....

Just now trying to get the horns to work - there is 12V on the relay - but it's not getting to the horn switch (which is a red wire when the one leaving the relay is purple/black). There's always something more to do!

I will look for the central lock activation that would be nice to have back again!

That’s great news
Gratifying for me it wasn’t the base wiring ( Dave knows why )
I’ll look at the horn in op post shortly when I’ve got the BBQ done

I have got the horn working. The sprung brass pin was way off the brass ring. It looked for all the world as if the top had been cut off. I took the wheel off, cleaned the very grubby brass (looking) contact ring and the retractable pin and then reset the brass ring with two washers under each fixing setscrew. Now works at every po8nt of the wheel's movement......
