It obviously had a fair bit spent on it when it was new....... the BBR 'performance kit' was a dealer-fitted option that was approved by Lotus (and kept the warrantee intact).
Unfortunately, it is actually very basic technology that is in 2 parts - a mechanical 'bleed valve' which is adjusted with a screw to vary the vacuum read by the wastegate, together with a 'fuel cut defender' which is a basic electronic circuit to stop the car running too lean when the first bit works! It all needs to be set-up and maintained to keep it safe (to prevent the engine detonating by running lean on overboost), but is surprisingly good (for it's time).
Personally, I'd recommend removal of all the bits involved, and fit an Everest chip together with going closed-loop - but that's just me.
Overall, it looks a good car although I do not know it.

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?
