Front Shock Mounting Plate (3 bolt) - SOLVED

Hello everyone, does anyone know if one can find the top shock (spring) mounting plates. The one with the three bolts that mates to the chassis. My threads are really poor and rusted and I was going to angle grind them off and use some normal bolts. The chance of them vibrating off is high so was wondering if equivalent parts exist.

(14/08/2026) I have pressed out the bolts and found they are self-clinching nuts. Closest I can find in the UK are:
M8 High Strength Clinch Stud
Item No. HFH-M8-25ZI
Made by a company called PEM
I think that I will still ask somebody to tack weld them as the clinching pattern is not exactly the same.

I guess you have tried the usual suppliers (looks like part number is A100C0075F), SJS list them but no guarantee that they are available. Also, this link https://forum.lotuselancentral.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=20042&start=40#p256629 hints that A100C0039F may be an earlier alternative, but that is probably even harder to source!

are you conserned welding the new bolts wont hold them well enough ?

the nuts/studs are not particualrly tight, as they arent under any extreme amounts of stress. i would certainly prefer to have a backup. but cant imagine the risk being high

one other alternative you can consider is using bolts which have alen key at the top. so if the bottom breaks loose you still ahve the allen key at the top as an option.. or something similar to the exaust manifold bolts as well.

That is one thing I cannot yet do, promised myself I would teach myself to weld last winter but all projects are delayed. This year has been an absolute disaster of delays on all the cars. Very upsetting.

Either angle grind then use a simple bolt, or angle grind then rivet nut.

Cannot see to find replacements.

i would suggest taking the plate and the bolts with you to a local independent garage and ask them politely to do it. maybe have a tenner at hand or a 6 pack.

i have resorted to that approach before learning to weld, generally speaking a task that simple is just 2-3 minutes, it takes longer to argue away the job than to get it done as a favor and some improvement to their reputation.
