Very nice Brian.  Agree with you on the spacing of the O but my preference is the capitals.  Lid alone is good would love to go the whole hog though.<br><br>Nige

It seems like there could be enough interest to make this viable, the mold tool cost will make or break it however and dictate how complex the design can be. What I've modelled here is about as simple as it gets from a tooling standpoint.<br>I'll get an estimate for mold tool cost ($300-$400?).<br>Part cost I would guess to be around $120?<br>If somebody would like to set up a poll then we can get some idea how the cost may be spread?

I've been giving this whole recirculating back into the airbox some serious thought and whilst it makes perfect sense to do so, it's either going to be expensive or a bit of a botch job.<br><br>So I go to think why am I bothering? <br><br>Ok back to school, we know that none recirculating valves are noisey & we know that there's a risk of dirty air entering the IC 'circuit' when the valve moves from open to closed.<br><br>So given the above, I went looking for an alternative 'solution'. After a fair amount of messing around, I came back with the following, now it's not been tested yet & the joining between the IC pipe and the valve is only for show but I think it may just work.<br><br>Here's my 'solution' a 50mm diameter breather airfilter, with a 25mm 'rubber' connector (it even comes with a hose clip). The filter is washable rather like a K&N and what's more, it costs around £10 inc UK postage.<br><br><br><br>&<br><br><br><br>So fitted to my Carbon top IC pipe & my Stratmosphere recirculating dump valve, it looks a little like this:-<br><br><br><br>Now from my thinking, the filter should help to 'reduce' the sound or be it less than the main airbox & the fact that it's a filter, it should stop any crap being sucked into the system. Owwww & lets not forget the fact that it only costs £10, inc hose clip & UK delivery.<br><br>Any thoughts, observations ?<br><br>Darren<br>~~~~~<br>

For sure filtering any air that may get back in is prudent but I don't think it's going to quieten things much...when I replaced the stock paper filter with a drop-in K&N filter the turbo 'stuttering' noise became more noticeable :-/<br>It shouldn't be too difficult to come up with a silencer design...I seem to recall high-speed airtools having a silencer that was basically an open 'concertina' type rubber hose?

I was thinking of a 6" 25mm rubber pipe with holes drilled through at one end and a piece of foam rammed in and the end caped off.  :-/
