My S2 has develped a weird sort of rubbing/slight clunking sound on fullright lock, well the last couple of mm of turn, comes and goes. I looked under the hood and when it does it there seems to be engine movement by the belts ? is this normal ?

I was going to ask whther you'd been working in the wheel arches and hadn't put the liners back properly, thus causing tyre rub.
But engine movement? Are the mounts shot/loose perhaps?

I have checked the arches and nothings rubbing i can see or feel.
Maybe engine movement paints an extreme picture, there is movement in the assembly above the wheels with the belt on it by a few mm that coincides with the noise ?

That's probably just the additional load of the PAS at full lock moving it around a bit. I can't think what the noise would be though. You could try and find the source by the screwdriver-stethoscope method, starting with the pump, whilst an assistant applies full lock.
Or do you only get the noise when moving?

From what you discribe, the first thing i'd be looking at would be the lefthand (opposite side to the righthand full lock) driveshaft.
Take it to a empty car par and drive around in circles on full lock at walking pace. If you get a clunk, clunk clunk then thats where i'd look first.

Being the cheapie guy I am, I always look for cheap solutions first.

My cheapie thought is to look at the belts. Specifically, check the belt to the power steering. It might be slipping, causing the squeal.
