Wind stoppers nearly ready for sale - Pics included

Having finished the kitchen and Head gasket change!!! I have started to make the wind stoppers i posted on the last forum.

The wind breakers are permanately installed, but the mesh is on a sprung roller attached to a telescopic aluminium hoop, this allows access to the hood storage area when in the down position, and can be easily pulled up from the driving seat.

The hoop is raised and locked in position with small locking wheels at each side to lock at the desired height.

The hoop can be left up to raise and lower the roof, rear view is not obstructed.

These really do work, as my girlfriend will testify . The wind entering the cabin is nearly totally stopped even at speeds of 70mph.

I am planning to make a first batch of 15 selling for £70each. Let me know if you are interested

Question: With the seat slid back and the back reclined, what touches the seat first, the folded hood frame or the wind stopper?

You see, it's a matter of room for me as I have to have the seat as far back and as reclined as posible.

I will check, but i am sure the seat will hit the B post, as the alloy posts are in alignment with the rear bulkhead. In the Picture the passenger seat is at its rear most position.

I will add a picture tonight of the attachement method and view behind the seats.

First production one is on test by Ben Weston, who had his fitted last night. It took about 20 - 30 minutes to fit. Its basically 4 screws in to the rear fibreglass bulkhead. A pair of screws just beneath the plastic bulkhead trim and about 50mm either side of the storage pocket. The bottom pair of brackets are just beneath the top of the speaker boxes, obviously in line with the top ones.

Just an update,
Intended to finish the windstoppers last weekend but, mate visited, night out, night club, 4am. You get the picture. Good news is all the parts have arrived from the suppliers so i just need some quality shed time.

And George the cat has a sore eye so he was off to the vets last night.

I am still waiting for some cheques, these will not be cashed untill you are in reciept of the goods.
