Elan Colours?

I'm just wondering (and no, I'm not telling anyone why..) what are the hmm.. let's see.. 7-8 most popular/typical colours on the Elan?

I suppose everyone can state their favourite colours (in order please), if there's no actual answers..

The last page of the 'Sales Literature v6.pdf' in the Manulas download section has the colour chart on which most of the colours can be found.

no there are no lists of popularity ....
richard m100 is the man when it come to lists and numbers..
he has a data base on the uk elans(that are registered with him via carparks, meets and more unusual places he turns up!)
he may be able to give you a list of colours sold?

there is also a paint code chart on ebay at the moment ..

as for favorite colours a poll may be the way ahead..

also for what its worth (which is not alot) i have had a silver, yellow, purple, red, and green elan.. if you stick them all together they can draw somthing away from the others but individually they are all nice colours including BRG which i thought was my least favorite ... till i owned it ... and now i quite like it..

I may be thinking of making something, but won't say what. Thing is.. I cannot include all the colours, so wanted the 7-8 most used ones.. That's why I'm asking :wink:

Are you sure about your first claim. I seem to remember a colour/numbers produced list. Website or book (Mark Hughes?).

Was it on that website with the paint codes etc...can't find it now?

if there is a list it would be good to see ..
RED would probably be the top seller..

AQUA BLUE
SILVER FROST

as the more rare colours.
BLACK
WHITE
AZURE BLUE
PALACIO PURPLE
METALIC BRG
STEEL BLUE
MEDINA GREEN
SILK RED

M100 BROWN

Aqua is definately in the rare list...your common blue is Pacific.

I've got Hethel compiling a list of colours versus production numbers.

Calypso red
British Racing Green
Pacific Blue
Azure Blue
Norfolk Mustard (yellow)
White
Silver Frost
Silk Red

Aqua Blue (edit: corrected from a double-mention of Azure - ta Rob)

John, looks like Azure blue is on the list twice (as it should be) but i am not sure of the validity of your information :oops:

AZURE is defo the best colour as the old adage (sp) goes

Well, i might be the odd one out here, red ( or pink ) is common place, some blues are nice, white, for those who look closely, really shows the elans shape, black is quite sensual, & black & gold is just sexy !
JPS M100 was built from bare chassis up to create one off M100 in the mould of JPS Team Lotus

Liz,
I suggest you just rely on your own good taste and go for Pacific Blue. If you had anything to do with the header design for this site, you clearly included Mustard and Medina so as to avoid giving offence.
How about a hint as to what you plan to create apart from strife on the forum?
