not holding boost.

My ELAN SE does not always get too full Boost (0.94BAR) has BBR convertion and PM exhaust. when it dose it's very fast (not too far behind my mate 300ZX with 360BHP). But sometimes i only get about 3/4 on the gauge so about 0.7BAR. and the car is a lot slower on the way home from work i was pushed down the road by a Clio 182. Now there is a BIG BIG differance between a Clio 182 and a 300ZX with a stage one.

Does the car run smooth even though it is not reaching full boost? Any engine lights? Not that they are all easy to get to, but you may want to check all your turbo hose connections. Seems there are 6 in the stock car. And you will also want to check any bleed valve and connected hose between the turbo outlet and the wastegate actuator (I believe this is one of the BBR pieces...). Could be the valve is getting clogged or there is a loose hose. Since the problem is not consistent, that makes me think it could be electronic related, too. Check the connections to the "black box" that is the other part of the BBR kit. I think it is usually near the back of the engine, possibly on the firewall near the MAP sensor.
Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
