Dunlop SP Sport 9000 Z. Any experiences?

Does anyone have experiences with this Dunlop SP Sport 9000 tire?

I had the SP9090's all round on my golf. 185bhp/275Nm through the front wheels, i managed 20k on the fronts and 35k on the rears.

If I had the choice I would have these on the Elan as well, it was just the price that made me go for the Toyo's.

10/10 from me.

I had a set of SP8000 on the M100 and replaced them in 2000 with a set of SP9000. They handled a few auto-X well and 1+ track days. They seemed to be predictable, and give good grip. I finally wore them out with a cross-country trip and an auto-x class (they were worn down to the and in some cases past the wear bars). I replaced the SP9000 with a set of Goodyear Eagle F1’s. Tire rack gave the F1’s a little better review but I haven’t pushed them enough to have a definitive answer. They do seem to turn in a bit better.

My experience is that the set of 4 I got at fire-sale prices when Dunlop discontinued the 225/40-ZR16 size 20-months ago have held-up very well in my temperature-contolled storage-room! I too was impressed by the magazines ratings of this tire & could not resist paying $500 for a set of 4 zs. the former price of $900!!!

EuroTuner has their annual tire-test mag out. They tested 10 DRY tyres and Falken really screwed the pooch with their new AZENIS 615 replacing the 215. The 215 was 1st last year while the 615 placed 9th this year, followed in 10th & last by the Kumho Ecsta MX. The #1 DRY tyre was the Yokohama Advan Neova AD-07.

In WET tires the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 ranked first, although the Pirelli P-Zero Rossa was #1 in WET-braking.

Best value for the money was the Fuzion (a subsidiary of Bridgestone) ZRi.
