Easy.
You start with buying 50 m2 sail, 20 emty oil barrels and some timber, then is't just matter of hard work and a litle luck..........

I wish I could remember the source of the quote by a rally driver from the 1970s who said something along the lines of "Anbody can drive roads like that flat-out going uphill; it takes a special kind of skill to drive flat-out going downhill".

I am not sure that road is wide enough for the motorcycle not to mention the Elan

Is this the Pso. di Gavia Delta?

It looks just like it. Sadly they metalled it a few years ago.
I drove the Gavia a couple of times before they did that.
Great stuff. Especially when encountering other cars

I allready thouhgt that I recognized it.
'Suffering ' from a photograpic memory enables me to remember certain roads quite well. Especially the interesting ones

I figure you must have had a GREAT holliday trip running on these kind of roads.

Kitty and I love challenging mountain roads. We probably covered 90% of every challenging Italian, Swiss and French Alpine road in the last 25 or so years. First in our 205 GTI, MX-5 and the last two years in our Elan

We used to organize international (classic)rallies in those regions after first participating in this kind of events. One of these week-long MX-5 Challenges was once described in the US Miata magazine as "one of the most gruelling miata events in the world'".

Here's a pic of the unmetalled Gavia in one of these events 10 years ago.


When we share the passion we should do something like this together in our Elan sometime. Maybe even with a couple of other UK Elanists?

BTW Delta, did you manage to do a run on the Nürburgring Nordschleife while you were there for the oldtimer grand prix?

I'm trying to organise the danish Elan owners to such a toure, and will love to meetup with other Elaner's on route.

Will also be delited to be invited to join toures organised from Holland.

Well- yes, I did take her around the Nordschlife, but it was wet, to much trafic, and the last 3 km we where lined up just to get of the track again.

Have you ever been to Landsend, UK.
They have some very narrow roads and steep hills, so when you drive in the wrong side of the road, it's getting pretty exceiting.
