a bargain system...in stainless

Postby theelanman » Fri 19.08.2005, 16:11

Ive just been over the JPstainless in macclesfield for a quote for a new system.......
and the quote was (is 'coz I bit his hand off and booked it in!!)

£275+vat......full stainless system in 2.25"...hes 2.25"...when I said 2.25 instead of the normal 2"..he never batted an eye lid...
so £323 is the final price for a 2.25" full stainless system

a damn good price I thought...dont forget that includes the 'custom' fitting!!

cheers
Gareth

About 4 years ago I called JP Stainless for a quote and it was over £400 !!

I thought it was too dear and I bought a system from "Double S" exhausts for about £220 .

£325 for a 2.25 custom fitted system is excellent , bite his hand off !!

Mike.

Sent off 5 emails for quotes from various companies, one responded within 2 days but at £500+VAT inc fitting;

SJSportscars responded (was on holiday) but their exhaust is stainless pattern.

Another responded in Greater London (south, surrey) and that is £399 inc. VAT. Cannot remember the number but may well take there, drop in a reply if you are possibly interested.

Longlife Exhausts

Postby Exbury » Tue 23.08.2005, 11:28

Sorry, I meant if anyone else in the London area doesn't want to spend the time, extra petrol (about £50 for me) and effort and miles (360miles round trip for me) on the car to go to Macclesfield while although you have a very good price it is only £75 less and Longlife exhausts do have a courtesy car and are more local for getting the train into London. Otherwise its a great deal for you guys further up north.

Longlife exhausts apparently come with a full customised hand built system, using 304 grade SS. Complete with a lifetime, no quibble, fully transferable warranty.

They can be contacted on;

Lisa French or Mal Elwood on 020 8669 8671

Ok, details are Extreme Performance, Billericay, Essex on 01268 534471 doing a 2.25 Stainless steel grade 304 system with full lifetime warantee for £350 inc of VAT although 3% charge for Credit Cards. They say they have done elans before and fit time is around 2 hours. Booking on Saturdays needs more notice.

Call Valery and tell her this is the quote they gave me (Jason Nichols).

Hi Jason

The last quote sounds good and it's very close to me, I'm guessing that's for an SE, I have an S2.

I'd be very interested to see how you get on.

thanks

Mines an S2 so thats what they have done :D . For the record they fitted from the downpipe back and removed the main cat for me, leaving the main cat for mot's. I have had lots of trouble with my car un exhaust related so i cant comment on performance, as for quality and job it looks fine to me but i dont know much lol The noise is quite deep and fruity without being mega loud. If anyone wants to see or hear before commiting let me know.

My quote was for the downpipe back, so I believe it would be a similar cost for the S2 as Avonvilla says. However, so long as they the exhaust flows well without restrictions but sounds well then I cannot see any problems with using this company. I think its also a fair bit closer to me and they did say it would be a roughly 2hr job max. Looks like I might be working so able to take a day off in the week soonish too! :D
