Car history - clues!

Postby TheBard » Mon 12.09.2005, 03:34

Well, I was upgrading the original front speakers to 13cm Alpine SPS units when along with the obligatory breaking of orange clips , I found this written on the inside of my door:

And I wondered two things:

#1. Am I alone in finding notes written inside my car (Aside from the usual build scribble)?

#2. Does anyone know how I can find out more? Who is KLM?

Oh, and the new units didn't need any modification to the door liner, and just four fresh holes on the mount plate, and the result is vastly improved music. Now to do the rears! :D

When I went to the trim shop at the factory in March I spoke to a lovely lady called Gwen who made a new door panel for me. She said they often signed the work they did when the cars were built :D I should have got her to sign the new one... Doh!

Mine has the build date written under the cover on top of the dash and RHD #294 written under the rear bumper, which is odd as it's #296

I found a date under the carpet while taking off the back numberplate cover.

Wonder if there are different years on some of the other panels?!

Hidden history to be found but personally I don't relish taking my car apart to find them :P
Men are like a fine wine.
They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the sh * t out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
