FALKEN AZENIS SPORT RT-215

Hello you slackers, - I just found the LAST supply of FALKEN AZENIS SPORT RT-215 tyres in size 215/45-ZR16 in the world, as production has been discontinued and this company bought Falken's entire remaining stock of this size as apparently these have a lot of street cred in the SO-CAL racing circuit.

They are $105 per tire including shipping in the lower-48 (ie, Continental United States). So for a sum total of $420 bucks like I just disposed of you too can have the finest rubber ever to grace the road, while the supply lasts.

PM me for the details, and if you want to buy my set of brand-new never-used Dunlop SP Sport 9000s size 225/45-ZR16 (discontinued size) which were the top-rated (non-type 'R' compound... 'R' stands for racing with just 8/32" tread depth, 6/32" the minimum required to be legal) tyre in the dry in the Car & Driver test 2 years ago when I bought them drop me a PM about those as well. BTW, something I've wondered: In Europe are your internet & mail-order & interstate-commerce purchases free of all tax like ours in the USA are?

no, we get charged VAT on everything here (17.5%) regardless of where its bought from - if you get something shipped from abroad technically you have to pay 'duty' for importing it. they dont necessarily catch every parcel though...

I never got so such adoration & discussion getting a couple of tires mounted before today. I went to Bavarian Imports to mount & balance 2 FALKEN AZENIS SPORT RT-215 & the first thing the guy said when I walked in carrying the 2 tires was "racing tires eh?". Hmm. Never raised an eye at Discount Tire where I used to go in Jacksonville. But those were teenagers while these (3 people commented) were 40-somethings... wanting to know what tracks I ran, etc. Anywho, kiss those damn tire-squeelin' Kumhos goodbye!!!

One note, the Falken's are much heavier than the Dunlop SP Sport 9000s. Of course one is a type R-compound designed for maximum traction period, while the other is a "Max" performance-tire (Tire-Rack's top designation, given to less than a half-dozen tires that they sell). Well, less unsprung weight will be interesting if I ever get to those. But in a few days I am heading for the mountains and don't want to do any cliff-diving! It is amazing to look at all the water-sipes (air in contact with the road) on the Dunlop street tires vs. the DOT minimum tread on the Falkens. Good thing I still have 2 more new ones. I'll just rotate them front-to-back as they wear and mount the next 2.

I hope when it is the Dunlop's turn they don't suck as badly as the Kumhos.

You're just using the wrong Kumhos, Matt. The V700s don't squeal anything like the 712s. Actually I think I'd squeal before they did!
