the elise prices are now below elan prices

I wish it was like that here, I'd get an Elise as well

A series one Elise here still goes for about twice as much as an Elan! :shock:

I would say its down to insurance costs for the two cars.

Loads of plonkers buying the Elise and think they can drive a rear wheel drive car the same as a front wheel drive car :oops:

It really irritates me when I think about all the know-nothings who purchase S1 Elises and invariably crashes them. :cry:

Andy B's S1 Elise got hit from behind by a lady not paying attention on the road two nights ago. His beautiful SY Elise was pushed into the SUV in front of him. Andy's fine, but his Elise needs new clams and then some.
Ok, rant over. Back to men dying from partaking of the pleasures of the farm and other typically stupid posts of mine. . . :roll:

What is amazing is the number of used Elises for sale where people have only kept them for a couple of months, and put very few miles on them.

Seems like there are more used 05 Elises for sale than all other Lotii combined.

Well, Jeff, over 20k copies of the Elise have rolled out of Hethel. I would venture that most folks aren't up to the task of Lotus stewardship.

...my suspicion is that peeps are finding that they aren't really that practical. Good for track use though (IMHO)

only any every day car if you are a real enthusiast. I guess lots of people dream of a Lotus, see the cheap prices, buy one, after a few months the novelty wears off, and they go back to a FWD GTi.

As an aside, i dont think new Elises/Exiges are sellin well. The dealer in Glasgow has a forecourt full of S1 and S2 exiges which have been there for months and are not shifting.
