I am replacing the "brush seal" (part number A089V6166V) - the "furry" strip where the window rises from inside the door. I have the part but can not track down the double sided tape used to attach it to the metal strip. Any clues where I can get this tape (part number B100B6088V)? I tried Dave Bean (where I get most of my parts) but he does not carry it. Thanks in advance.

Scott, I replaced my OE part with new industrial double-sided tape from the hardware store a few years ago--I swear the original double-sided tape looked nothing special, and I'd bet the stuff I got is better than the tape from 15 years ago technology-wise . . . was a bitch to get to stripping the door, and I needed to re-rivet the top metal strip in place on the door after the fix

Doug,
That makes sense...I've already hit the local Home Depot for some "exterior grade" DS tape - 3M I believe. Do I have to take the door apart or can I do this from the window opening? I was able to remove the old DS tape very carefully with a razor.

having been there, I'd say to try from above if you've had success with removing the tape
worst case and it falls off then you can always open the whole thing up and do it over
patience and care placing the tape in and the furry brush on from above should work . . .
