Steering wheel fitment

Postby Fubar1764 » Mon 10.10.2005, 23:11

I'm getting tired of the crummy (and ugly) steering wheel on the Federal M100. Any thoughts on steering wheels (with airbag) that might fit? I wonder if any other makes/models fit the M100.

Well Rich L. is the only one I have ever even heard of with an aftermarket airbag wheel on his Elan - - he posted the info in the old forum which may still be searchable--or email him for the info.

Is the old site still around?! I'll search over there if I can. I emailed him a ways back but didn't get a response.
I assume the SE wheel will fit a Federal M100?

well, with rear drive, the offset of the Elise wheel would make it stick out of the car like a ghetto low-rider!

all M100 OE wheels with fit all M100s

what are you looking for, Jack?

There's a few people with S2 wheels for sale around if you look around here . . . they do look VERY nice on the Elan -- nicer than in pictures!

Doug i think LotusM100 is on about the steering wheel and not the alloys:?

The Airbag steering wheel does spoil the looks of the car, what about fitting a UK SE spec steering wheel and just fitting the original for u`r yearly MOT/inspection. :?

Mine u were`s the horn on the Fed spec :?:

Just saw an SE steering wheel go for GBP65. Of course, I'm looking at some of the BMW wheels, thinking, "Come on, they look so similar, how hard could it be to find a collar to fit?!" :?
Just don't feel like dropping $800 on a Raid Daytona. . . Grr. . .

Same rationale on legislators! :?

Back on topic: (since this isn't the Drunken Rage thread)
Does a '90 Esprit wheel fit onto the M100?

I picked up a Momo Corsa from eBay for £45. No airbag tho' :P . Fits no problem with a Nardi etc to Momo adaptor :)

Mine's also a Momo. I think it's nice - red stitching matches well. No airbag, though.

Wow, that looks really good!
In fact I think it's the best aftermarket wheel I've seen.

Grr. You're all just trying to make me jealous! Well, it won't work. . .much. . .
How did you figure out fitment and collars? Is there a guide out there that's instructive? Will other manufacturer's wheels fit?
