For those requesting colored hoses, especially light-colored ones, have you every tried cleaning your stock ones?  Not the easiest to get to, ya know?

Just a thought...

I have just contacted Samco by phone....

Questions i put to them

1 - will you require a set of hoses to duplicate? or can you contact lotus themselves for specs?
2 - Just to try and increase the numbers interested, are we likely to receive a discount with a group buy of 15 plus ? If so any idea of what percentage?
3 - Without seeing the hoses is it possible for you to give a time scale as to how long it would take to complete?
4 - Even though its a 'new' kit can we still have a choice of colours?
5 - Is the stadard blue option cheaper than other colours?
6 - Would it be possible to deal with one person on your side so to avoid any confusion?

Answers

1. I will be sending Montys spare set of hoses hopefully this weekend.
2. 30% discount on a group purchase (i'm assuming this is if we purchase 15 sets or more.)
3. 5 - 6 weeks.
4. yes
5. All hoses will be the same price.
6. sorted.

Sound good to me :D

If anyone else is interested then say so soon, as theres no doubt the final price (after our group buy) will increase by 30%.
Price will be established soon, and theres no point in me guessing.

One other thing, PLEASE watch this thread regularly as at some point either a deposit or full amount will be required. I know Darren had some mega headaches whilst organising the Quaife group buy, and that is one thing i dont want.

really like the sound of these but I'm going to wait until the price has been established.......just had a look at their price list......everything is around the £100 until you use the word lotus.....then its up to £250......why????
surely there's not 3 times more pipework....its not twice the diameter.....its not made of titanium and plated in gold is it?...just wonder wether the 30% discount will be on actual costs incured or on one of those figures plucked from thin air.....
I'll reserve my judgemnet until then......
still sounds very tempting though!!!
cheers

This is the full set of coolant hoses which are being sent to samco.

Also included are the smaller pipes ie 1 going to the throttle body and the ones going to the turbo etc. We didn`t see the point in not replacing these.

ps These are being sent Monday so any Comments before then would be welcome.

We`ve looked at the parts manual for the cooling system and it is showing 2 different set ups to the radiator section, can u please ensure that u`r system is the same as the photo below ie do u have the metal pipe section as in the photo. Pinky II is a 1990 and Dico`s is a 1993 but our systems are identical. Could be that the S2 is the other option mentioned in the manual  :?:

What about us guys and gals in the us? I know that the radiators are different, is there any chance that the hoses might be as well? Looking at your pictures they appear to be the same, but I just want to make sure.

BIG sorry to the chaps with federal elans, Unless you/we can confirm that our set ups are identical it looks like a no go  There are four of you on the list so far and i fear that unless we can make that number up to 15 Samco wont consider making the moulds up for so few (i can always ask though)

CAN SOMEONE ON THE LIST WITH AN S2 PLEASE CONFIRM YOU HAVE THE ALLOY PIPE (in front of the radiator) AS PICTURED ABOVE IN THE BOTTOM PICTURE

M100 TWO you seem a knowledgable chap
Can you confirm if the S2 and SE have an identical coolant system??

Dico,
Please add me to the list on the basis that it is for the purposes of obtaining an estimate and so ultimately subject to price.
Mine is a UK SE 1991 so I can't help with the O/S S2 metal pipe query.

Dico the S2 has no aluminium pipe it is all in rubber from engine to bottom of rad to electric pump to bottom of water header tank this must be better because of no corrosion and two less joints to leak
