when I took the pipes off I broke a plastic clip in the shape of UU anyone know if they are available ?

However one version that fits the S2 and SE versions would be preferable and that probably means getting the S2 version (I assume it was an upgrade anyhow).
I would be in favour of just replacing the metal part with rubber unless someone comes up with a good reason why not.
