Oooh! that really is not very nice...... (I can't find an emoticon that shows sufficient shock and surprise so this one will have to do  )

I recall seeing it at donny last year, it looked like the colour scheme was dreamt up to accomodate white bumpers!!
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.

I also saw it at Donny, supposed to be Gold leaf sprint colours but hasn't been executed at all well. Should have continued the white bumpers all the way round the side imho.

Its very interesting this price thing, you see in another thread there is a breaker asking £4750 for a car which has had a real nasty smash on drivers side, so what is one worth in good nick ?. Will it be the breakers that force the price of elans up ?. My advice to you Beer, is look long & hard for a good one, & if your really serious, don't be frightened to spend 10k, cause if you find a good one, it will reward you. There is a couple of good low mileage ones in the cars for sale section ?

elan prices

Postby guest beer » Tue 15.11.2005, 01:26

hi guys, i read your comments, i'm quite surprised at 10K for a good one, however I can see how a good car in mint original, low milage condition could go for that. What year was the last year of production, and what is the average price for one of that year.

Sy V.....is that a dog then? Its got a lot of miles i suppose.

Timmo, I'm in north yorkshire.....home to some of the finest roads on God's green earth (save Wales, before anyone starts that one off!).

I've been trying to convince my girlfriend to buy an Elan which is why I'm asking about them, now before you sigh, she is a great driver (for a women) and she has a Lotus engine in her autograss car (oh and she is ladies national champion & ladies british champion in a different series).

I'll keep looking, and trying to convince her as she is thinking about a beemer at the moment (grrr).

Cheers,
Guest Beer :D

..and missed by 50 quid. Ho hum.

I like the sound of the hill climb project (the idea was discussed a while ago at the Hen and Chicken meet, curiously enough. Strip off all the junk, door strengtheners, lights, other seat, hood, crank up the turbo and away you go ...)

Does anyone (Will) know anything about this Elan...apart from the fact that it's got 5 dodgy wheels and a Cat?

Four road wheels, the steering wheel and the listing mentions a catalytic converter.
