i dont like it all.the front looks awful the profiles bland,the backs ok(ish).
might look better in the flesh as i sometimes think photos dont do the elan justice.
i think lotus are taking a step backwards design wise after the exige and elise.

If it were a 2+2 I would currently be begging the bank manager.

I like the looks and with lower sills would be a better option for us slightly larger/less flexible types than the elise/exige, but am more than happy with my Elan, so won't be exchanging soon.

When i went to lotus last wednesday, i saw this car in the flesh, sure it had Europa 3 on it, must of been an S, well it was frosty !, was gonna have good look at it on way out, but it had gone, & when i questioned lotus employee about it, they wern't allowed to say anything !

Not for me I'm afraid. I'm not a fan of the Elise shape (unless in full Exige guise) and think this is more of the same bland curviness that just makes it look like everything else on the road.

However, I do like the look of the new Marcos, anybody lend me the cash?

I think this new car is absolutely superb, more practical, with its larger boot, & should be really quick with its turbo charged engine ( max torque @ 2000rpm ), shall consider selling JPS M100 & getting one. Might also consider setting up LEC, Lotus Europa Central !

lets check the spec. 1000kgs, 200 bhp, 140mph, leather, carpets, focused handling.....mmm M100 anyone ? and a lot cheaper

just seen the press photos in Autocar. Shutlines are appalling and will not be acceptable to target audience of Audi TT & Boxster :gray: Maybe they'll prefer the new MX5 .

It looks good from the rear TT-ish, but the front looks like , well bland,

Guess they are restricted with what they can do as its built on an Elise chassis.

It looks like a Proton with only two seats. As already said VERY bland and forgetable unlike the M250 which was a stunning looking car.

The Elise looks far better either mkI or mkII. The boot does not look too different from the Elise either. The ELise boot is thin and deep where as this one looks wide and shallow with those flat packed ruck sacks in.

Completely agree Brian. Woe that Lotus is taking styling cues from Honda! Though not a huge fan of the front fascia of the M250, she's certainly much better than the proposed Europa.

My Local lotus dealer actually phoned me up to 'chat' about my Elan, and if I would like to p/ex it for a new Europa! now I like the personal touch, but I looked at the price tag and in all fairness is double what I earn in a year, even if I did like it I sure as hell couldnt afford it.

I like the look of the M250 over that of the Elises (especially the S2 ).

Believe the proximity of the A pillars to the occupants would not pass today's safety regs, just like the last Esprit.

Although not very groundbreaking in the styling department, the new Europa does not look bad. Reminds me of a mid 90's Mitsubishi.

looks like a Japanese 90's coupe, Toyota, mitusbishi etc. A new Lotus shouldmbe groundbreaking as the original Europa, Esprit and Elise were and not derivative.

If I had to guess, this car's much too fugly to be real. I suspect it's a way to keep everyone talking about the Esprit replacement until it actually comes out.
