Looking at purchasing an elan. Looked at an elan and im not sure about the body work - is it normalish?

1st - panel fit between wing and front valance / bumper seems a little off at the wheel arch. Not exactly smooth, but no sign of crash damage. Is it normal.

2nd - on the other side, the small panel between wheel arch and door has dropped down a little. Cause? easy to repair?? again no obvious signs of a knock?

3rd - to replace the plastic rear window - is it a big job or easily done?

Any advice would be greatly valued?

I am not in the uk but - its a 92 turbo, 31K Km good overall priced around 5000 pounds (equiv) - does that seem an ok price?

1. Can be fixed by competent body man. Not normal.

3. Not aware of a screen replacement for this top as there's no ability to remove it. I believe there are products out there that will clear up cloudy screens, but as I haven't tried them, I can't vouche for their effectiveness.
The body issues might suggest previous damage that has been repaired. Possibly good spray but bad refitting?. . .I say this because I'm having some issues with my body man's first attempt at refitting the front bumper cover.

There is a company called trim technology who were the original manufacturer of the hood, they have new hoods and that, I think, is the only way to replace the plasic rear window.

bad panel alinement on elans is quite common as they are a hand built car no too are the same. the rear screen can be restored with various compounds and creams on the market, hind sight for instance. the screen can be cut out and replaced by specialist upholserers but the best option is to fit a nice new hood with fresh seals. and £5k is a good price if thats the only problems with the car.
