I think that was his major fitmant issue Jay.

I've just fitted an SJ sport exhaust........big difference: no lag, +0.1 bar
of pressure and lot more power from 3500 rpm and not too much more noise.
I'm french new owner of a M100 with a lotus coming from italy.........no rot on the whisbones! 1991 and 97000 kms.
I have other more powerfull cars and this exhaust is the best money-power ratio i'v got!

Hi Marcos,
Congratulations on your Elan purchase!
Would be interested in your comments on the Sports exhaust?
Doyou get any change in noise, ie. extra rattles as you go above 3500rpm?
My sports silencer baffles have just gone for a second time! Gonna have to contact SJs to discuss again....

hi Dan,
I'v fitted it last week end! so no yet trouble with moving baffles!
the"new"noise is correct with or without the hood but the power change is there. I now get every time 0.75 bar (0.60 with old exh.)and it keeps going in the revs.
My other car is a ......marcos 3L V6 (1969) ,quite noisy , very torquey but lacks the "push" of the lotus.
SJ exhaust system is a very good buy, i just hope it will not crack at the front because stainless steel is harder than steel and don't like vibrations.

I also had a definite difference with the new exhuast but very noisy now.
I did ask about the front section, as it is not included in the lifetime guarntee. Answer: "it'll last ten fuckin' years!!" I quote
Hopefully will last longer than the silencer has for me...

i got a ss exhaust some 15 years ago from christ and neil for my 1982 elite, it's broke at the front during the first month!
the isuzu engine seems very light on vibrations ,not the 2.2l lotus engine.
