i am slowly finding my way around the elan i bought 3 months ago. i have so many questions to ask. most will probably sound silly to experienced lotus enthusiasts, but hey here goes...
The last but one owner fitted a Bailey Motorsport dump valve, which was subsequently removed by the last owner.
Should I put it back in the system?
The car is a 91 turbo, bought at the very low end of the price range, with a few glitches. Handling is superb, but can occasionally feel odd. I am going to put the original alloys back on to see if it is anything to do with the after market 100+ 17" wheels as i believe they can affect handling.
Thanks for taking the time to look, any comments would be great. Thanks Steve

I have some 17'' OZ's on mine and it feels great. What brand are the ones you have? Any pics?

Silly questions are welcome here, all part of spreading knowledge and learning from each other
What feels 'odd' about the handling? It will be interesting to get your feedback on the stock wheels?
If the dump valve is not plumbed back to the air filter the previous owner may have tired of the noise these devices sometimes make, also some are prone to leaking and pressure loss? Probably no harm in refitting it and seeing if it does anything for you
