Ok, I recently put my faith in the Lotus dealer network and had my Elan serviced at my local Lotus dealer. The car was due a 'B' service, and I also wanted all the wheel alignment checked (as I have replaced the rear wishbones). They are a relatvely new Lotus dealership (see my other postings) and as such are very clued up on Elises & Exiges (there were also an Espirit being serviced there), but had not had much experience with Elans. To help them, I provided a copy of the service schedule so they would know what was included in a B service, and provided some relevent parts of the service manual for them.

Basically found it to be a good experience, costing £375 inclusive of the parts, oil and four wheel alignment. Standard of workmanship was very good, and all parts that were meant to be replaced have been, and a full print out of before and after wheel alignment was also provided

I appreciate that the price may be more than an independant Lotus specialists, but this dealership is within a mile of where I live, so I was able to drop the car off the evening before and pick it up without taking a day off work.

Overall I an very happy with their work, and the car feels so much better now all the wheels are pointing in the right direction!

And no, I am not on commision - just a satisfied customer
