Another typical day out in the Elan.
Went for a top down blast of about 20 miles. The car was basically OK, but had a funny tinny rattle when pulling away and between gear-changes.
Took it to a garage and they say its probably clutch plate thrust bearings (or something like that)
New clutch fitted will be £560 (Inc VAT)
Does this sound OK? (Both cost & diagnosis)
Rob
PS I *really* shagged the clutch about 5 years ago when the gear change selector cables went on a motorway roundabout and I was forced to slip the clutch in 5th across the roundabout - Cue white smoke and a bad smell that lasted about 9 months.

is that a Lotus place fitting it or someone else?
i got mine from Paul Matty about (£250) then had my local place do it (only place i trust with my car) i'm told from a Lotus specialist it's a 8-10hr job.
