After watching "C'etait un rendez-vous" I had to wonder why sound and picture didn't go together.... The story sounded too good but I wanted to be proved wrong...

So for those of similarly enquiring minds, here is what I found...

IMDB's review http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0169173/
Check the "Trivia" for...
According to recent claims by Claude Lelouch, he was driving his own Mercedes in the film, and later dubbed over the sound of a Ferrari 275GTB to give the impression of much higher speeds. Calculations made by several independent groups using the film show that the car never exceeds 140 km/h (85 mph), which seems to lend credence to his recent comments.

Which sent me to http://www.lesfilms13.com/dea_a_z/news/news87.htm where Lelouch clearly states the camera car was a 6.9l Merc....

An abridged version of events can be found on Wikipedia @

I'll now go back to proving Father Christmas does exist

Good to see that!

I was about to swear that the tire screaching sounds were a bit too much and didn't seem to match the energy and exact turning of the car. Also it sounded just a bit too much the same exact pitch each time even when on different surfaces . . .

still a great video to enjoy none-the-less :-D

um, I'm a gunna try and not say anything bad about the above -- interesting for sure, but definitely long--so be preparred!

Anything with John Malkovich in it is cool with me, but what's the point?

Certainly is not going to get me to buy Pirelli's that I already am not fond of . . .

Makes me think they should not waste a million dollars on a dumb flick and instead lower their prices and then maybe they'd be worth buying!

anyways . . .
