Car is still at DSP at Greg's hands. He drives it daily, I figured thats this is the only way for him to identify everysingle repair that the car needs.
We hopefully resolved the "electrical" problem that did forbid us to go high pressure in wet weather (high moisture) and we are changing the Engine Custom Head Gusget of 3.1mm thickness with a custom one again but of 1.5mm thickness (same as stock one). This will probably not allow us to go for 1.7 Boost as before but the car will be faster and more responsive at 1.3 Boost than before. We will never know before I test drive it and do some Dynos as well.
Other than that I know that also Greg allready fixed my front suspension as it was in a bad shape.

Looking forward to it Costas. As a relative newcomer, I'm still catching up with who's who and what's what so I'm only about halfway through your story but I am very impressed with what you have achieved. I only wish I had been able to make Donington to see it in the flesh!
Keep us posted and for Founder's sake, DRIVE CAREFULLY.

Many times I ve been asked what I have done with the remap of the engine. I tried to explain that the chip is an addon hop-up mounted on top of the stock one that overides it and not just a replacement chip. My technical vocabulary and knowledge on this area is very poor so I never managed to explain it properly.
We recently are experimenting more advanced chips and I had the chance to snap a photo of the wierd thingy, so I hope it helps.

So....this is from inside the stock ECU?
They are burning their own tables for the stock ECU? Are changes in real time then?
I don't get how you have two chips in at once; crazy stuff - a bit more complicated than the old "turn up the fuel pressure" methods employed by some!

Costas. It's usually refered to as a "piggy-back" arrangement (as in when kids give each other rides on their backs). However, I can't see a stock PROM (chip) underneath the replacement one - are you sure the stock PROM hasn't been removed and replaced with the upgrade? There are still some components under the blue plastic cover but I think these are the limp home circuitry.
I would be interested if you have any details of the supplier of the adapter.

I am "sure" its the stock chip beneath even though I cant tell the difference but thats what I am told, I will crosscheck tommorow anyways.
I will try to provide as much data as I can get for the Addon Chip and adapter.

We are trying to fit a Motec M4 on my car which can only work as a piggy-back and everything seems very confusing! Costas ask DSP Lotus if a piggy-back can be placed on ours cars successfully or not and what is needed.

Costas,
As you may or not know I'm going through tuning right now on my car. I was looking at the dyno charts posted quite some time ago and was wondering if the entire dyno sheet including the information at the bottom and sides could also be posted. There's some information like ratios etc. that I want to compare. I also wanted to know if the HP numbers were flywheel or at the wheels. I just spent over an hour looking through all the posts but if the information was there I missed it. I'll probably go back and look one more time though. I tried to see on your videos the information I was looking for, but the video angle wouldn't allow it.
Don't worry, I'm not trying to break the M100 HP record just looking for some data for reference. Our turbos aren't similar, my purpose is only to zero in some info that will be helpful to me. By the way either dyno run without NOS is fine.
Thanks in advance, Russ

We are now building a 3" (75mm) new exhaust set including new downpipe ofcourse, and will test it within July.
When the car was running at 230hp and we replaced the stock exhaust with the 2.5" and the gain in perfomance was huge. Now that the car is running at lot more hp, perhaps a bigger Exhaust will be healthy for it.
We ll see how it goes.

Also, you will be able to check the spark plug gaps without lifting the hood

Gareth,
I'm sure Costas will answer but I seem to recall this being asked before and it was truly a one off with the master now being on SH4RK, no mould was made. Short of taking a mould from Costas's panel it remains a one off (for the moment).
