You've not heard of Tintin and his dog Snowy? Belgiums answer to Mickey Mouse!

The new source of Torque Master plugs is
http://www.extremespark.com/. Ordered a set today. You want DIS plugs with the narrow-gap for forced-induction cars, plug number *SVFN7GR. The * is called the star-series and is for DIS ignitions. These plugs last forever (literally) and cannot be gapped by design, because they never wear.
With original sparks and leads I figure it's time for a replacement.

Wow...
I know that it was not your first choice, Matt- but hopefully white grows on you as it did for me!
Now I wish that I had gotten a hold of you last week so that we could have talked about this news in person (over the phone)! Honestly- I will catch you sometime this week, looking forward to talking about your plans.
Just remember- you are going to hold onto this car for a good long while, so take your time. No sense breaking yourself to get all the work done in one month...
Congratulations! I am very happy to hear that you are back in the Elan realm again!
All the best to you and the Great White Hope- happy travels!

Is there anyone else interested in the CHMSL (central high-mounted stoplight) 18-8 high-strength stainless bolts I'm buying on Monday? As of now I'm buying two complete sets which are both spoken for. South Coast Stainless does not stock these and I have only found one place which does in high-strength stainless. I am getting normal hex-head bolts as the button-head OE rust-stickers were not the right choice for the factory to make. What are you ever gonna do if you burn out a bulb? How are you gonna get the OE bolts out to replace the bulbs? It will be a sad day when you get a ticket from John-law. Anywho, Monday is the order date.
I am also ordering the 9 exhaust manifold to block & 5 turbo to manifold nuts (which both happen to be M10x1.25 fine thread) in stainless that same day, from the same place; as they seem to specialize in specially-sized high-strength stainless fasteners... although I imagine there would be less a need for those generally speaking.

Put in a rebuilt headlight motor, works great. Put all stainless fasteners in the driver's wheelwell & suspension on that side. Actually trying to rush & finish with the old car (scavenging) as next weekend is booked.
Adjusted the clutch too so that it engages nicely. Got my turbo back today & when I install that & the big exhaust it'll put the OE clutch to the test. Good thing I have a +90% clutch in reserve still new in the box, bought when Bill was closing his doors. Need to measure & buy some larger turbo hoses.

You're right, does this add value?
Patience oh Founder. Better pics of what the car will soon be than pictures of a stock white Elan, don't ya think?

Both front wheel wells sanitized today; still a whole lot of work to do. Not a 100% job, just a 90% job. No time left & some parts not yet here.

Looking pretty good... how many man-hours did it take you to clean things up?

It took about 6 hours to do both wheel wells including a break for lunch. That included replacing a lot of bolts with stainless, and measuring a few more for future order. Also finished the periphery of the engine-bay. The 6-foot box Jet-Hot was shipping me got lost in transit so they are shipping another. When I went to reassemble the downpipe/turbo I found the machine-shop had bent a couple of the studs so I'll either take it back to them & say "straighten them" or buy new ones.

The finish you are getting there is awesome.

How are you cleaning it up so well? I am just about to have a go at mine using a wire brush and perhaps a sandblaster.
Once you've got it that way, does it stay like that?
Candles.

When i painted my front suspension a lot of it was new parts and painted with hammerite and didn`t use Waxoyl as it doesn`t dry solid and didn`t want it all over my hands when working on the car. Anyways a year on and alot of it has gone rusty

So i`ll have to paint it again but this time i`ll give it a coat of clear waxoyl
