S2 Tyres for Trackday

Postby westonben » Fri 12.05.2006, 18:06

The manual says 29psi front and rear for my S2 tyres.

Anyone suggest anything different for my trackday tomorrow? I suppose that once the tyres heat up the air pressure increases? So maybe I want to start out a little lower than 29. Or is this neglible?

Interested to hear any thoughts.

Defiatelty harder. Add at least 3 psi per corner.

If you start higher it should reduce the increasing pressure caused by heat build up from the casing flex and tread rubber friction.
I would suggest 5-6psi front and 3-4 psi rear, this should help reduce understeer. I would expect to see 3-4 psi gain on this pressure after about 20minutes of fast running.

You're right. I gained 3 psi after each session.

I ran on the recommended 29 psi and suffered a little understeer.

I managed to spin 360 and skid over the grass for about 100m. Pics and video to follow on my return home tonight.

I managed to slay 4 elises and 1 westfield in my group! Wet weather was a good equaliser!

Was on Croft track with NYLOC.

Great day out despite the weather. I'm struggling with the video (it's poor quality, but still hilarious as we giggle whilst spinning off the track!!).

It's 8Meg, but Yahoo only let 5MB on. I'll try a website!
